Brambletye has been a long-term project working with the clients and John Pardey Architects.

The key ambition was to create an undefined, natural space. The aim was to avoid anything too formal or obviously designed, using the existing landform to create an undulating meadow and grass landscape.

The site is surrounded by water, and a natural swimming pond built by Afri Ponds sits next to the house. As a natural pond, it doesn’t rely on chemicals and has quickly become a haven for wildlife.

These photographs document the journey so far and were taken only a few months after planting, so the garden is still very raw. By next year the meadows will have seeded and the “garden” should start to blend into the surrounding landscape.
