Twyford Moor

The garden project is located alongside a major renovation of a 1970s house in the South Downs National Park, offering stunning views of the River Itchen valley. The garden design reflects the house's linear structure, which is echoed in the layout and alignment of pathways. The plant selection was crucial to achieving a natural and subtle integration with the surrounding landscape. At the heart of the design is a central spine of Switch Grass (Panicum virgatum), which forms the backbone of the planting scheme, contrasted by informal clusters of perennials and ornamental grasses.
